How every figure is sourced

Interior Designer UK publishes a number, a date, a clause or a price only when the editorial team has fetched the page it comes from on or before the publication date and can link to that page. Primary sources take precedence: statistics offices, government portals, standards bodies, legislation, and price guides that carry a publication or review date. Where a figure cannot be traced to such a page, the article leaves the claim out rather than estimating it.

How sources are cited

Each article links to the exact source page at the point in the text where a figure appears, and the link opens the source in a new tab so the reader can compare the two side by side. Statistics carry the year they were collected, prices carry their currency and year, and statutory clauses carry the document edition and the paragraph or section number.

How inferences are labelled

An inference is a conclusion the editorial team draws from two or more sourced facts, such as arithmetic on a published percentage, and the article labels it as arithmetic or as an inference in the sentence itself. The site does not present an inference as a fact from a source.

How corrections are handled

A reader who finds an error can email info@interior-designer.uk.com with the article, the sentence and a source, and the editorial team corrects the article and changes its updated date when a primary source supports the correction. Articles are reviewed when a cited source publishes a new edition, for example a new ASHE release from the Office for National Statistics each autumn.

How commercial interests are kept out

The site accepts no advertising, no sponsored articles, no affiliate links and no payment from any designer, course provider, contractor or professional body named on the site, and the editorial team does not sell design services. Price guides from commercial companies are cited only for the figures they publish, and the article names the company so the reader can judge the interest behind the figure.
